It may be blustery outside, but we’ve got hot toddy ingredients aplenty! OK – no alcohol – but with Montezuma’s chilli drinking chocolate, Rochester’s spicy drinks, and fresh lemon and ginger – who needs booze?! 😉
Busy busy day, with people buying presents as well as edibles!
Apart from our usual, glorious fruit and veg, we also have some very impressive toiltries in stock.
Not to mention a DVD on Seated Yoga, with a special price of only £15 (RRP £17.99): it’d make a great present, maybe for someone less mobile, or who wants to loosen up a bit whilst stuck at a desk?
And just to give you advance warning of our Christmas opening times: we’ll be closed on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th December, but back as usual on Wednesday 28th!
Lovely to see John Rowswell pop in with a fresh delivery of vegetables today.
These are the most beautiful garlic: plump, luscious cloves fantastic for roasting as whole heads, and pretty enough to give as gifts. We’re selling them either as individual heads or as strings.
Brussell sprout trees too! Very festive!
We had quite a stir in the shop this morning when Charles Dowding bought in his latest vegetable delivery: it included a parsnip that was over 3 foot long! This is all the more amazing when Charles explained that it was grown in one of the ‘no dig’ beds that he has pioneered.
Having loosened the parsnip by just a spade’s depth to release it from the soil, he managed to just pull it up, proving how loose the soil must be to quite deep down despite not having been dug for years (except by worms). Impressive!
If you want to read more about Charles’ no-dig gardening experiments you can do so on his website, or of course by buying one of his books (which we have in the shop).
Had a great time with Brutons annual late night opening yesterday. Our special dhal soup, hot cider punch and booja-booja luxury truffle tastings went down very well!
Santa abseiling down the front of At The Chapel caused quite a stir: we’re still not quite sure of his identity, but Colin’s temporary absence was noted and we do wonder…
We still have lots of Christmas goodies in stock: a choice of natural and vegan cosmetics as well as many delicious foods, so do pop in and see us for continuing festive cheer!
We’re loving Pukka Herbs even more than usual: they’ve given us a little supply of free Pukka mugs to be given out to the first customers buying 2 boxes of Pukka tea!
Not hard to do when we have such a fantastic range of flavours in the shop.
Which will you choose? Love, cleanse, revitalise, three fennel, licorice and cinnamon, three mint….
